All About The Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast area is the third most populated area in Queensland, located 100km north of the state capital, Brisbane. Sunshine Coast is an easy 1 hour drive north of Brisbane International Airport. The urban area spans approximately 60 km of coastline and hinterland. The area has several coastal hubs at Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore and Noosa Heads. Nambour and Maleny are the main townships for the nearby hinterland. The region’s large area means that it has many facilities with a diverse range of people and communities. Experience the friendly, family lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast centred around pristine beaches and natural sub-tropical forests.

Weather

The subtropical climate is ideal for the beach and year round activities. Daytime summer temperatures for the coastal region average around 28°C. The hills of the hinterland tend to be a degree or two cooler. Evenings are pleasant with temperatures around 20°C. During the winter months there are clear skies and daytime temperatures average 20°C. Winter brings cool nights and evening temperatures on the coast average 10°C. Light frosts may occasionally occur, especially in the hinterland.

It has been a pleasure to have Natsumi become one of our family members. This morning we were up very early to say our last goodbyes to Nat and make sure she had a smooth transition with airport shuttles. It was a very sad time for us all and we were all upset to see her leave – although happy at the same time for Nat to be seeing her family again after such a long break. I hope she comes back to Australia some time in the future for a visit and we can call get back together again. We will stay in touch. 🙂

Really nice family!!
