Applying for a Homestay

Students can apply for a homestay directly through the AHN website. Simply go to www.homestaynetwork.org and click on Join as a Student

You will be prompted to enter some basic information and asked to verify your email address. 

Ensure you enter as much information as possible when you are completing your preferences.

You can enter a short bio about yourself that will be sent to your host as an introduction.  You can also attach a photo. 

Entering Preferences

AHN always tries our best to meet student’s requests and preferences when placing them with a host family. However, some request, or combination of requests, can be very difficult or to meet.  This is because there are a very limited number of hosts who meet all requirements at once.

Students are asked to please keep in mind that you are coming to a new country to try new experiences.  There will be different things to adapt to, which you may find you enjoy.

AHN will try to meet requests if they relate to a medical condition or religious requirements.  Other requests will be considered however they may not always be met.

All AHN Hosts are required to go through a strict, professional application process before they are approved to host students.  We have a high standard in hosts and their homes are considered to be well maintained and acceptable to place students in.

AHN endeavours to place students within a maximum of 45 minutes travelling from their homestay to their education provider.
