For new students over the age of 18, you must try traditional homestay for your initial period.  You are then able to move to one of the other options where you can look after yourself for some meals and pay a reduced weekly fee.  To take these options your host must also be agreeable if you plan to use the homestay kitchen to cook for yourself.
