Students studying on the Gold Coast, Queensland can arrive at the Brisbane Domestic or International Airport or the Gold Coast Airport.
AHN can arrange for the student to be met at the airport on arrival and transported to their homestay family. This can be a great relief for students when first arriving in a new country with luggage and no knowledge of the public transport system and how to travel.
If students do not request for AHN to arrange transport to their homestay upon arrival, they are required to confirm their travel and arrival plans with their AHN supervisor prior to arriving so that we can ensure someone is at home to meet the student. AHN also requests that the student calls their homestay approximately 60 minutes prior to arriving at the home.
If the student has requested for AHN to arrange transport for them, students will be issued with a Airport Pickup Confirmation Report.
Students are asked to follow the below instructions:
Arrival at the Airport:
Once customs has been cleared and your baggage checked, please exit through sliding doors into the Arrival Hall.
(If you arrive at Brisbane Domestic or Gold Coast Domestic - Please go directly to the Baggage Area)
Look for a person holding a sign saying "AHN", wearing a blue shirt.
Please wait for 15 minutes. If you cannot find your driver in the baggage collection area, please go to the Information Desk.
Show the staff your Airport Pickup Confirmation Report. The staff will call 1300 MY STAY. Please STAY AT THE INFORMATION DESK. The staff will arrange for the driver to meet you there.
Do not take any other transport from the airport if you have arranged for the Airport Pick-Up Service.
If you are lost - Please call 1300 MY STAY (1300 69 7829) and wait at the Information Desk.
If you do not have your Airport Pickup Confirmation Report - Tell the Staff at the Airport:
"I am an AHN Gold Coast Student and I need help finding my driver"
Please note:
· Parents, relatives or others accompanying the student will need to arrange their own transport.
· Students are to notify of any flight delays or cancellations 24 hours in advance otherwise the student will be charged the cost of the Pick-Up Service.
If there is a problem at arrival, please do not hesitate to call 1300 MYSTAY (1300 69 7829). Please identify yourself as a Gold Coast student and they will be able to put you in contact with your supervisor.
