Guardianship/Caregiver

Education Providers require that all students who are under the age of 18 and live in an approved Homestay.

For the student to receive their Certificate of Enrolment (COE), the Education Provider must sign off on their approved accommodation and Guardianship/Caregiver.

A students Caregiver is normally arranged by the Education Provider if they have not appointed themselves. Caregivers can also be arranged through an approved family member or an external organisation.

Parents of Under 18 students need to complete the Guardianship/Caregiver form before a student’s visa will be issued by the Department of Immigration.

Guardianship/Caregiver arrangements for Under 18 students are for the duration of the student’s confirmation of enrolment (COE).
