Homestays for University and High School Students
Flexible Programs for College Students
University students enjoy slightly different services depending on the city, but all locations offer considerable flexibility. Our affordable fees are based on what services a student selects.
There are great benefits by choosing to Start With Us. AHN homestay includes a fully furnished private bedroom, utilities, internet access and a choice of meal packages. Unlike other long-term accommodation options, there is no lock-in contract and no bond to pay! Living in homestay also makes transitioning to share housing or alternate accommodation easier.
Extra Support for High School Students
All our homestays focus on safety and support, but we place even greater emphasis on this for international students under the age of 18.
AHN works with education providers to tailor homestay services that not only meet students’ needs, but also the school’s requirements in fulfilling duty of care obligations and complying with government regulations for younger students.
Features: Homestays for High School Students and Under 18s
- Specially-trained hosts certified to care for younger students (permanent residents must have a valid Working with Children Check and/or Police
- Check depending on state/territory laws)
- Welcoming hosted accommodation close to school, as approved by the education provider
- 2-3 meals a day
- Local orientation and introduction to Australian culture and customs
- Guidance for appropriate behaviour
- Assistance in monitoring the student’s curfew, wellbeing and school attendance
- Additional Code of Conduct for Under 18s
- Host acts as a liaison for the student in the event of a critical incident and will communicate details back to the student’s parents and school through AHN
The education provider maintains responsibility for the student’s welfare and must ensure all arrangements meet the requirements of the National Code.
