All About Newcastle
Newcastle is the second largest city in New South Wales. It is home to a large export terminal for natural resources. Newcastle has many great beaches and is the gateway to the famous Hunter Valley. Newcastle is a very family orientated city and has many great sporting teams and facilities.
Newcastle enjoys a sunny, Mediterranean climate all year round with more than 340 sunny days per year. Summers are warm to hot and winters are mild, with rainfall spread fairly evenly throughout the year. Slightly more rain falls during the first half of the year. In summer (December – February), average maximum temperatures are around 25°C. It can also be humid at this time with an average humidity of 71 per cent. Average maximum temperatures in the winter months (June-August) are around 17°C.
